Angel Without WINGS......
"The Presence of DOCTORS is the beginning of the cure."
This quote inspired me today to throw light on my favourite topic and that is Love for Profession. Everyone loves his or her profession to its core. I wish same goes with me as well. Anandi Gopal Joshi is the First Doctor in India. Despite many difficulties and hurdles she broke the walls of Disappointment, demotivation, discourage and many more. Many a times a thought arises in my mind what could make someone so attached to something that it makes him or her to go its core and study on it. After going through Anandibai Joshi's story I realised that it is Heartbreaking or Heartwarming incidents. Anandi underwent a tragic and painful incident when she lost her 10 days old son due to improper medical care. This incident was a turning point in her life and she was inspired to do something about healthcare in India. Despite practicing medicine for only two to three months, she rose to fame for her sheer determination and hardwork, to become the first Indian female to study western medicine, becoming an inspiration to all others who came after her. The youth of upcoming generation should not wait for tragic incidents to create histories but take all the incidents and make them as opportunities.
"Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can CURE PATIENTS."
Just now one incident strucked me, when I went across one newspaper I read about a doctor and his heroic deed. He was working under Military medical council. When he was performing an heart operation on injured army officer, and Due to some unavoidable circumstances he cut the wrong vein due to which the army officer died. Out of frustration, dissatisfaction and feeling of being a killer who could not save his patient he attempted suicide. Later after post-mortem it was declared that the had cut the same vein which he had unintentionally cut in the latest surgery. This was something new but his utmost love for his profession could have saved many more lives. There are many more lively incidents happening on this planet which we are not even aware about.
Now I would like to take you to past in the pandemic time. On one hand people across India and around the globe are largely confined to their homes with businesses and educational institutions all shut down in an attempt to contain the virus, and on the other hand doctors, health-care workers, and medical staff members are leading the battle against COVID-19 from the front. Putting their own lives at risk with selfless determination for the sake of saving lives, they truly are our heroes in these challenging times. While they are putting their own health, families, and most importantly their own lives at risk, the least we can do is appreciate their efforts, respect them and pray for their well being wholeheartedly. Innumerable COVID warriors sacrificed their lives as well. The sacrifice that they are making for the safety and welfare of humanity is priceless and deserves lifelong gratitude on our end. Most importantly, we must reassess the value health-care workers hold in our lives and the kind of treatment they get from us. Among the several lessons this coronavirus pandemic has been teaching us, the biggest one is to find ways to sufficiently invest in the better and more efficient medical fraternity and give medical professionals the respect, compensation and infrastructure that they truly deserve once this crisis is over. Moreover, the world needs to work towards advancement in medical research and technology. Nothing will be a greater tribute to the health-care workers than this. The diligent work by an Iranian doc Shirin Rouhani proved that her love for profession is extraordinary. Her determination and will power was such that she continued to treat patients till her last breath even when she herself was on IV. She knew she could not rest because of the shortage of doctors and medical workers to cater to the needs of patients. Not only this pandemic situation but also many more events, camps, organisations manifested this profession.
Medicine is a science of uncertainty and the art of probability.”
There are numerous options to do like Neurology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Pediatrician, Orthopedist, Dermatology, Ayurveda and so on. No any profession is treated less or more than the other, each one is best on its own terms. The world is interdependent and working hand in hand with all professions.
IT IS A BEAUTIFUL THING WHEN A CAREER AND PASSION COME TOGETHER!!
